About The Role
Are you a passionate and experienced Electricity Distribution Fitter ready to inspire the next generation of industry professionals? We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to join our dynamic training team at our Taunton Training Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to lead engaging training courses and make a real impact in the field of electricity distribution!
In this pivotal role, you will report to the Technical Training Delivery Manager and take the lead in delivering high-quality Fitting training courses. Your responsibilities will extend beyond teaching; you will collaborate on the design and development of innovative training programmes that incorporate interactive blended learning solutions. By working closely with subject matter experts, you will ensure our training meets the evolving needs of our workforce, enhancing our training assets and facilities.
You will deliver training to apprentices, new hires, and operational staff, facilitating assessments and observations such as Trade Tests. This is your chance to share your expertise and help shape the future of our industry!
What You'll Do
1. Deliver engaging training in both classroom and workshop environments.
2. Utilize your experience to design and develop technical and safety training that meets customer requirements.
3. Support the maintenance of training products, ensuring compliance with internal quality assurance processes.
4. Collaborate with technical experts and relevant departments to ensure training meets necessary standards.
5. Stay updated on the latest technical and safety bulletins to enhance safety training.
6. Review lesson plans and presentations to ensure high-quality delivery.
7. Conduct observations to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.
8. Maintain training centre facilities and equipment, ensuring everything is in top condition.
9. Conduct safety walks for areas of responsibility.
10. Assess individuals performing practical activities to ensure they meet qualification standards.
11. Work with the Design and Innovation Team to drive improvements and develop new training products.
12. Uphold Health & Safety and Safeguarding responsibilities for learners.
13. Complete accurate course reports and assessments documentation.
About You
14. Recognised Level 3 Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent Electrical Engineering Qualification (ONC/HNC).
15. Extensive experience in maintaining Distribution plant and equipment, Power network or Subsations.
16. Strong understanding of Distribution Safety Rules and associated policies.
17. Excellent communication, time management, and planning skills.
18. Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
19. Experience in managing teams or work activities is desirable.
20. Previous training experience or knowledge of coaching others is a plus.
21. Familiarity with Safeguarding or working with young adults is desirable, but training will be provided.
22. NEBOSH certificate/diploma or equivalent safety qualifications is advantageous.
What You'll Get
23. Competitive Salary: circa £54,000 – £63,000 per annum (dependent on location, capability, and experience).

More Information
This role is offered on a permenant basis.
Base location for this role will be Taunton and there will be some travel required.
This role closes on 15th July however we strongly encourage candidates to submit their application as early as possible.
