Project Supervisor
Location: Chirnside, Scottish Borders
Hours: Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Supervisor to join a well-established manufacturing site based in Chirnside. This role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering engineering and maintenance projects that keep a major production facility running safely and efficiently.
The Role
As Project Supervisor, youll take ownership of the planning, coordination, and successful completion of engineering projects across the site. Youll ensure work is carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, working closely with contractors, internal teams, and senior management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the day-to-day planning, coordination, and supervision of engineering and maintenance projects.
* Managing schedules, monitoring progress, and communicating updates to all stakeholders.
* Reviewing and approving contractor RAMS to ensure full compliance with safety standards.
* Managing permits to work (including Hot Work, Confined Space, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out).
* Identifying and resolving project challenges with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
* Maintaining project documentation, reports, and performance records.
* Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement across site operations.
About You
Were looking for a motivated and hands-on individual with a strong engineering background and proven supervisory experience. Youll thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment and enjoy leading from the front.
Essential skills and experience:
* HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship.
* 35 years experience in project management or maintenance supervision within manufacturing or a similar 24/7 environment.
* Solid understanding of health & safety legislation, including PTW, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and RAMS.
* Competent in using project management tools and CMMS systems.
* Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
