The Role
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to work across multiple secondary schools within the Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive impact on their education while gaining valuable experience in different school environments.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement. You will work flexibly across our secondary schools, providing essential support to ensure minimal disruption to students’ education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise classes during planned and unplanned teacher absences
2. Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities set by subject teachers
3. Maintain classroom discipline and implement the school’s behaviour management policies
4. Support student learning by providing guidance and encouragement
5. Ensure the safety and welfare of students at all times
6. Build positive relationships with students across different year groups
7. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams
Essential Requirements
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to engage and motivate secondary school students
10. Strong classroom management skills
11. Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school environments
12. Reliable and punctual with a professional approach
13. Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
14. Right to work in the UK
15. Willingness to travel to various schools within the area
Desirable Requirements
16. Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
17. Understanding of secondary school curriculum and learning objectives
18. Relevant qualifications in education or subject-specific areas
19. Experience of behaviour management strategies
