Senior Project Planner – DNO Distribution (Permanent) Location: North West (Hybrid working available) Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 benefits (DOE) Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Overview We are recruiting a Senior Project Planner to support a major UK Distribution Network Operator (DNO) on a long-term distribution framework. This is a permanent, senior-level role focused on high-volume DNO distribution projects, including rolling programmes and planned shutdowns. The successful candidate must have proven experience working within a DNO environment and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced delivery setting, supporting multiple live projects concurrently. Key Responsibilities * Develop, manage, and maintain DNO-compliant project programmes * Support high-volume distribution works, including rolling programmes and shutdowns * Build logic-linked construction schedules aligned to DNO standards and governance * Work closely with Project Managers, site teams, and commercial teams * Identify programme risks, constraints, and clashes, and develop mitigation plans * Produce accurate progress updates, forecasts, and recovery programmes * Ensure planning activities align with DNO health & safety requirements * Support client and internal stakeholder meetings with clear programme insight * Contribute to continuous improvement of DNO planning processes Essential Experience & Skills * 6 years’ experience as a Project Planner / Senior Project Planner * Essential: Proven experience working on UK DNO distribution projects * Strong understanding of DNO governance, standards, and delivery processes * Experience planning LV / HV distribution works, substations, and shutdowns * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume environment * Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders * Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project * Commercial and delivery-focused mindset Desirable * Experience working on long-term DNO frameworks * Wood pole, substation, or outage planning experience * Client-facing planning experience within utilities or power networks Why Apply * Long-term, stable role supporting a major UK DNO * Senior position with autonomy and influence * High demand programme with continuity of work * Opportunity to work within a well-established delivery team How to Apply Apply now with your CV or contact us for a confidential discussion about the role, the DNO framework, and long-term progression opportunities
