Core Responsibilities
The Technical Operative is responsible for the effective running and basic maintenance of the factory machinery. Reporting to Operations, this role plays a key part in the smooth running of the production line. The equipment used will vary from box erectors to vertical form fillers and multihead weighers. Role will include:
* Basic proactive maintenance of equipment
* Carry out minor repairs on machinery
* Operate machinery as part of the production team
* Complete daily safety start up checks
* Respond to first instance blockages and stoppages
* Regular cleaning of equipment
* Liaise with the Engineering department on matters associated with the equipment
* Support the production team on clear down days to clean the picking loops and/or repack area
Who You are
* This is a physical role moving around a large factory, lifting up to 20kg
* Previous experience gained within a similar role
* Mechanically minded with working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* A confident and forward thinking team player.
* Excellent attention to detail, flexibility and problem solving.
Qualifications
Ideally Food Safety level 1
