University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the current ENT team based at Furness General Hospital, on the doorstep of the Lake District. The Lake District is England's largest National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. .You will work Cross Bay with Furness General Hospital as the main site. You will be contracted for 10 sessions per week with the option to increase along with service needs. The post holder will need to have a broad experience in general ENT. Any subspecialty interest will be actively supported

Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the ENT team to provide a high
quality ENT service that aims to provide excellent patient care. This
includes delivery of out-patient, emergency, day-case and inpatient
services independently.
You will be expected to manage your own work
programme within the broad parameters of Department policies
and procedures, and will be responsible for determining the
associated work activities using their initiative.
Working Hours: As job plan
On-call: 1:5 on call weekends and 1:4 weekdays with prospective
cover
The anticipated job plan is included but may be subject to changes
and involve working at other sites within the UHMB community
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practise at time of appointment
* Entry on the GMC specialist register or be within six months of obtaining your CCT at the time of interview
* FRCS or an equivalent appropriate higher surgical qualification
* Evidence of audit and research experience
* Higher professional qualification in ENT surgery, Teaching or Research and education
Experience
* Significant experience in management of ENT
* Experience of working in a multi disciplinary team
* Evidence of involvement and experience in audit
* Developed area of specialist interest
* Have previous employment in the NHS
* Broad based ENT exposure for adults, paeds and emergencies
