Job overview
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated and organised respiratory physiologist to join our Respiratory Physiology Service supporting the Community Diagnostic Centre Hub and spoke sites at Redcar Primary Care Hospital, Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, North Tees and Stockton.
Please note: Base will be Stockton hub but rotation to spoke sites may be required at times
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to undertake, interpret and report results on a full range of lung function investigations including spirometry, nebulised reversibility, gas transfer, lung volumes - by both helium dilution and body plethysmography. Familiarity with 6 minute walk tests, SNIP/MEP/MIP and skin prick testing would also be an advantage. The role also requires general administrative skills to include booking, attending and coding of out-patient appointments on the Trust patient admin system as well as basic stock control and calibration and cleaning of equipment.
A Clinical Respiratory Physiology/Healthcare Science BSc or equivalent is required with relevant professional qualification (ARTP part 1 and 2) and you should be RCCP registered or working towards registration.

Qualifications
* Possess or gain accreditation with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP).
* Degree in Healthcare Science or related equivalent experience
Experience
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Enjoy patient contact and working as part of a team
* Previous experience of working in the field of physiology/respiratory medicine
Knowledge
* Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology
* Experience of working in a healthcare environment
* Work in accordance to standards set by the Association for Respiratory Technology and Physiology (ARTP) and the RCCP.
* Good communication skills within a multidisciplinary team
