Job Title: Import Operations Clerk
Location: Felixstowe
About the Role:
A well-established freight forwarding client is seeking an experienced and proactive Import Operations Coordinator to join their busy team in Felixstowe.
This is a hands-on operational role, working directly with the import team to manage container movements, handle documentation, and support seamless end-to-end delivery of ocean freight shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver exceptional service to clients, coordinating import activities
* Ensure shipments are cleared, released, and delivered efficiently and profitably.
* Work closely with customs clearance teams to track and support the timely completion of import entries.
* Coordinate container deliveries, liaising with hauliers and ensure timely receipt of goods.
* Request and process import releases from shipping lines, including handling necessary authorisations and payments.
* Chase and collate required shipping documentation.
* Communicate regularly with third-party agents and customers to keep them informed and resolve any issues promptly.
We're looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of customs procedures, transportation, as well as the flow of import, export, and cross-trade ocean freight shipments.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Freight, Shipping or Import operations environment.
* Ideally knowledge of customs processes and familiarity with Destin8 and CNS platforms.
* Confident using Microsoft Office and internal logistics systems.
