As official Royal residences, Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, St James's Palace and Windsor Castle are very much working buildings welcoming thousands of visitors and guests each year, as well as the busy daily traffic of employees, contractors and deliveries. Based in our Pass Office, you'll play a key role in helping to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
* Warmly welcoming visitors as a first point of contact, verifying their identity and issuing passes.
* Managing our visitor access system and processing security checks in accordance with vetting and access procedures.
* Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver access control and accreditation support for official events.
* Carrying out administrative duties to support point of entry requirements.
* Answering queries from guests and members of the public via phone, email and in-person queries.
Although your official working location will be Buckingham Palace, St James Palace and Kensington Palace, occasional travel to other Royal Residences (mainly Windsor Castle) will be required as and when needed.
For internal candidates this will be treated as a secondment and so please seek your line managers approval prior to submitting an application
About you
Essential Criteria
* Drawing from previous administrative or customer service experience, you'll excel in managing tasks efficiently while providing excellent service to customers.
* You'll demonstrate strong IT skills and a quick aptitude for mastering new software systems, ensuring accuracy in data entry and processing.
* With outstanding interpersonal and customer service abilities, you'll communicate confidently with diverse individuals, maintaining professionalism in every interaction.
* Highly organised and calm under pressure, you'll effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, particularly when supporting large events or complex projects.
* Proactive and resourceful, you'll apply sound judgement and independent decision-making after training, contributing to smooth operational processes.
* Detail-oriented and efficient, you'll manage high volumes of information with precision, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.
