Account Handler
Location: Orpington/Hybrid
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
We are looking for a Commercial Motor Fleet Account Handler to join a busy insurance team. This role is ideal for candidates with insurance experience who are looking to progress their career, particularly those working towards or already holding a Cert CII qualification.
Candidates with strong transferable skills from financial services or other customer-facing roles are also encouraged to apply. Above all, we are seeking someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills. Attention to detail, organisational ability, and the capability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Handling incoming and outbound calls and correspondence with clients and insurers
Processing mid-term adjustments and checking cover, warranties, and endorsements
Providing broking and administrative support to sales teams
Cross-selling insurance products
Managing daily inbound and outbound post
Liaising with insurers and clients pre- and post-sale
Handling technical calls from internal Account Executives, insurers, and clients
Maintaining compliance with FCA regulations and company procedures
Keeping accurate training records and updating management on backlogs or debt recovery issues
Effectively managing individual diaries and workload
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in insurance or financial services, ideally with commercial motor or fleet exposure
Strong customer service and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Desire to develop professionally and study for qualifications such as CII
