DiPerk Power Solutions is the exclusive OEM distributor for Perkins in the UK and Ireland, offering support for repairs and maintenance of plant, electric power, agricultural, or marine equipment.
Major Job Functions:
1. Customer Communication: Engage with customers/end users to understand procedures, adhere to site requirements, and provide estimated arrival times. (10%)
2. Safety Assessments: Conduct pre-task assessments to ensure safety standards are met according to Diperk/Finning protocols. (20%)
3. Diagnostics: Perform complex mechanical and electrical diagnosis on engines, including aftertreatment systems, using Perkins EST and specialized tools. Update customers and prepare detailed reports for quoting. (25%)
4. Parts and Scheduling: Identify required parts, requisition them, and coordinate delivery and service scheduling with customers. (10%)
5. Engine Overhauls and Repairs: Carry out major overhauls, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Perkins engines, including component removal, dispatch, and reinstallation. (25%)
6. Out-of-Hours Support: Be available for call-outs, overtime, and travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays. (10%)

Knowledge:
* Proficiency with field diagnosis tools and equipment
* Deep understanding of Diesel engines, including mechanical, electrical, and aftertreatment systems
* Knowledge of power generation systems
* Warranty processes (desirable)
Accountability:
* Conduct site risk assessments, prepare method statements, and ensure safety compliance
* Inspect and test completed machines, report defects, and complete documentation for billing and warranty claims
Education & Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years' experience in field service
* Experience working directly with customers
* Experience with heavy earth-moving equipment, construction, static machinery, and power generation
* Full UK driving license
Candidate will be provided with a service van, laptop, mobile phone, and distributor-level training using the latest diagnostic equipment.
