Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Analyst for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working – mostly from home, occasional days required in the Edinburgh office. Responsibilities: - To help our Project Management team on a project to support the agency’s compliance with data protection legislation, Freedom of Information (FOI) obligations, and internal information governance policies. - This project role focuses on analysing business processes, systems and business requirements and developing creative and economically robust proposals and recommendations for system/business change. In addition, the role will identify risks and support the implementation of systems and procedures for effective redaction, data handling, and governance. - Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, collaboratively transforming the organisation’s business processes and systems. Essential Skills: - Strong understanding of UK data protection laws and FOI legislation. - Good understanding of business analysis tools and techniques. - Strong documentation and report-writing skills. - Proficient in methods and techniques for effective management of projects from initiation to completion (e.g. Agile / Prince 2) including risk management. - Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. - Good numerical skills - Relevant degree or HND - Proven experience within data protection related projects - Proven experience working on UK data protection requirements, FOI legislation and UK GDPR. - Proven experience of gathering business requirements and modelling business processes. - Proven experience of delivering business and system improvements - defining and evaluating options for change and making the selected option for change happen, e.g. via business case development. - Proven experience using information gathering methods, tools and techniques and stakeholder engagement. - Proven experience working in a team and of contributing constructively to the shared outcomes of the team Desirable Skills: - Relevant BCS/ISEB (Chartered Institute for IT) qualification If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
