Duration: 3-6 Month Contract
Salary: £27,167 (Pro Rata)
Working Hours:
1. Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
2. Friday: 7:30am – 12:00pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a Stores Operative to join our team on a contract basis. The role involves supporting warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling of goods, and maintaining accurate stock records. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading/unloading vehicles, using forklift trucks and overhead cranes, distributing parts, and maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
3. Load and unload vehicles using forklift trucks and overhead cranes.
4. Open, unpack, and assemble fabrication cases/pallets on plastic pallets.
5. Distribute parts to production and service departments as required.
6. Book in deliveries, check goods against delivery notes, and complete ERP (Visibility) system updates.
7. Carry out spot checks on high-volume deliveries and input new storage locations.
8. Maintain accurate stock records and support stock take activities.
9. Report and record any damages, including photographic evidence.
10. Raise near-miss and safety improvement opportunities.
11. Ensure good standards of hygiene and housekeeping across all stores areas.
12. Work collaboratively as part of the Stores team, carrying out general warehouse duties when required.
13. Comply with all health, safety, and data protection policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications:
14. Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence.
Skills:
15. Strong attention to detail.
16. IT literacy and ability to use ERP/WMS systems.
17. Good understanding of warehouse processes.
Experience:
18. Previous experience working in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
