Dietetic Assistant

Band 3 – Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) Dietetic Team – Royal Liverpool University Hospital – Fixed term (6 months) – 22.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
* Ordering nutritional supplement samples.
* Managing phone calls and coordinating with community health care professionals and other hospitals, e.g., Clatterbridge Center for Oncology.
* Registering patients for home delivery of enteral feeds and sending all relevant paperwork as instructed by the Dietitian.
* Preparing clinic documentation to ensure the Dietitian has up‑to‑date and accurate information for patient reviews.
* Collecting anthropometric measurements and data as part of the UGI Dietetic team.
* Supporting the administration team with tasks related to patients’ nutritional care.
Clinical duties
* Assisting in monitoring the nutritional care of patients by collecting specified information such as weights, heights, BMIs, blood levels and intake data.
* Liaising with Dietitians daily and feeding back any variances to care plans.
* Ensuring all patients receive their prescribed supplements and food snacks, encouraging and assisting patients to take them.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent in English.
* Minimum 1 A-level or NVQ Level III equivalent.
* Educational background including nutrition and one science subject.
* EDLC course.
Experience
* Experience of working with people.
* Previous employment in an NHS/Hospital setting.
* Experience of working with elderly.
Skills
* Time management – able to complete tasks within the available time.
* Basic IT skills, internet and keyboard skills.

£25,760 to £27,476 per annum, pro rata.
