Role and purpose
We are looking for people who like to go home knowing they have made a real difference for our primary-aged pupils. We are seeking enthusiastic, nurturing and resilient individuals who are genuinely interested in supporting children with complex physical, medical and learning needs. Can you make a difference?
What we look for
* Interest in how children with complex SEND develop physically, cognitively and emotionally
* Understanding of the importance of play-based, multi-sensory, and exploratory learning
* Knowledge of routines, structure and communication systems
* Interest in supporting children who use non-verbal communication
* Passion for enabling all pupils to express themselves, make choices, and engage meaningfully in interactions
* Understanding of how to use puppets, songs, stories, music, light and movement to capture attention and spark joy
* Experience or interest in sensory integration, tactile play, and developing communication
* Desire to work in close partnership with teachers, therapists, health staff, and families in a transdisciplinary, child-centred, inclusive approach
* Ability to think on your feet, be flexible, and personalise support to meet each child's unique needs
* Creativity in finding ways to make learning accessible, fun, and emotionally safe
* Commitment to upholding safeguarding and child protection at all times
