Purpose of Role
VINCI Facilities is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Defence contract team based at Sandhurst. This is a key commercial role supporting the successful financial and contractual management of a prestigious and high-security estate. If you have strong experience in estimating, pricing, P&L oversight and contract administration, we’d like to hear from you.
Job Description
As a Quantity Surveyor within the VINCI Facilities Defence team, you will play a central role in managing commercial activities across planned, reactive, and project works. You will work closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure commercial compliance, robust cost control, accurate reporting, and timely applications for payment.
This role requires BPSS vetting due to the sensitive nature of the Defence environment.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare accurate estimating and pricing for planned and project works.
2. Lead and support commercial management activities across the contract.
3. Produce, submit, and negotiate applications for payment and final accounts.
4. Review, interpret, and advise on contractual documents and obligations.
5. Monitor and manage financial P&L performance, ensuring commercial targets are achieved.
6. Support operational teams with commercial guidance and best practice.
7. Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with internal processes.
8. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement and best-value initiatives across the contract.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
10. Qualification in Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
11. Demonstrable experience in: Estimating and pricing, Commercial management, Financial P&L oversight, Applications for payment, Contract review and administration
12. Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
13. Ability to work effectively in a high-security, sensitive environment.
14. Eligible for BPSS vetting.
15. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
