As a Product Controller in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region Equities Product Control team, you will be supporting the Prime Finance business with a focus on Securities Financing. Your primary function will be reporting the daily and monthly P&L to traders and senior management. The role requires extensive interaction with Front Office traders, Financial Control and Operations, as well as various Project teams and other functions throughout the bank.
Job responsibilities:
1. Prepare daily profit and loss reports and support month-end close activities
2. Analyze financial results and deliver concise reporting to desk leaders and senior finance
3. Partner with business teams to implement robust controls and support new initiatives
4. Coordinate across front and back office functions to resolve reporting and control issues
5. Serve as an analytical resource for product control and related projects
6. Respond to ad hoc requests with timely, data-driven insights
7. Lead or contribute to projects that improve profit and loss reporting and close processes
8. Produce weekly and monthly metrics with clear commentary for senior management
9. Document processes and enhance control frameworks to mitigate risk
10. Identify automation and efficiency opportunities to streamline reporting
11. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships through clear, proactive communication
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
12. Relevant experience in product control, financial control, accounting, audit, or a related field
13. Hands-on experience with profit and loss reporting and month-end close processes
14. Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and control focus
15. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
16. Proven ability to build effective working relationships across teams
17. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
18. Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment
19. Problem-solving mindset with ownership and follow-through
20. Familiarity with balance sheet substantiation and variance analysis
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
21. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline
22. Understanding of financial products across asset classes
23. Working knowledge of Alteryx or Python for data transformation and automation
24. Experience researching and explaining equity derivatives transactions
25. Exposure to control design, testing, and remediation
26. Experience with visualization tools to develop management metrics and commentary
27. Process improvement or operational excellence experience (., automation, standardization)
