Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially focused Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) Analyst to join a growing retail organisation. This role plays a key part in supporting multiple business functions, including Finance, Buying, Loss Prevention, and Floor Planning, with the aim of protecting and enhancing profitability.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality analysis and insights across pricing, promotions, margin performance, and store optimisation. Working with large data sets and collaborating across teams, you will help ensure commercial decisions drive sustainable financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
* Analyse trading and pricing reports, identifying discrepancies and key performance trends. Collect, interpret, and analyse data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights.
* Conduct root cause analysis to support decision-making and senior stakeholder reporting.
Pricing & Promotional Activity
* Manage end-to-end pricing and promotional processes, including setup, validation, and post-implementation review.
* Maintain pricing structures and margin rules, ensuring alignment with profitability targets. Collaborate with Buying and Marketing teams to support promotional planning.
Purchase Order Analysis
* Review purchase orders to ensure compliance with margin expectations.
* Identify exceptions and highlight risks related to supplier costs and margin performance. Monitor supplier trends and cost movements.
Store Optimisation
* Analyse store and departmental performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Recommend product range adjustments and layout optimisation to enhance profitability. Support stock management initiatives, including exit strategies and clearance planning.
Business Reporting & Visualisation
* Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to improve visibility of key metrics.
* Increase automation and efficiency of recurring reporting processes.
Support & Continuous Improvement
* Provide analytical support across projects and ad hoc data requests.
* Ensure data accuracy and maintain documentation of processes and outputs. Contribute to ongoing improvements in tools, reporting, and workflows.
Collaboration
* Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to understand business needs.
* Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in finance, analytics, or a related discipline.
* Experience working with large data sets and applying structured problem-solving approaches. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams is desirable.
