Senior Engineer – Highways
Salary: £43,000 – £53,000 + 8% Employer Pension Contribution
Hours: 35‑hour working week
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)

At SCP Infrastructure & Design, an RSK Group company, we are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality highways and drainage solutions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established engineer who is ready to step up — leading technical delivery, mentoring others, and acting as a trusted point of expertise within a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Leading the technical delivery of highways and drainage designs on medium to large projects
* Producing and checking drawings, calculations, and specifications to a high standard
* Providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and technicians
* Coordinating design inputs and managing workloads to meet programme deadlines
* Reviewing outputs to ensure compliance with standards, legislation, and best practice
* Supporting client engagement and contributing to design discussions and solutions
* Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and championing quality across the team
What We’re Looking For:
* Strong experience in highways and drainage design (roads, foul & surface water)
* Proven background across multiple sectors (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.)
* Experience producing technical reports such as Drainage Strategies, FRAs and O&M Manuals
* Confident communicator with the ability to guide and influence others
* Strong design software and Microsoft Office capability
* A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to engineering challenges
* Full UK driving licence
