Aztrum is delighted to be representing a major player in large-scale housing development, who is looking for a creative and driven Landscape Architect to join its in-house design team. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the design of new residential communities, with a focus on delivering high-quality, sustainable, and people-oriented landscape strategies that enhance housing layout schemes and public spaces.
The Landscape Architect will be responsible for designing and developing landscape-led masterplans, green infrastructure strategies, and detailed open space layouts across a range of residential sites.
Key Responsibilities for this Landscape Architect role:
* Design landscape strategies and open space networks that complement and enhance housing layout schemes.
* Prepare landscape masterplans, planting plans, and visual material for planning applications and stakeholder engagement.
* Contribute to the creation of Design and Access Statements, Design Codes, and Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments.
* Ensure all landscape proposals meet current planning policy, biodiversity standards, and best practice in sustainable design.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants (ecologists, engineers, architects) to deliver coordinated and deliverable design solutions.
* Support the delivery of high-quality, green infrastructure, play spaces, streetscapes, and communal open spaces.
* Keep up-to-date with planning policy, environmental guidance, and emerging landscape design trends.
Essential Requirements for this Landscape Architect role:
* Degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline.
* Chartered status with the Landscape Institute (or working toward chartership) is desirable.
* Experience working on residential or mixed-use development projects, ideally for housebuilders or masterplanning consultancies.
* Strong graphic and presentation skills; proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp (or similar).
* Knowledge of UK planning policy, biodiversity net gain, and sustainable drainage (SuDS) integration.
