Overview Of Role
Role Purpose:
To oversee production in oil/spices, working with the Production Manager to meet production plans while monitoring health & safety, food safety, and quality standards.
Role Dimensions
Reports to: Production Manager – Oil/Spices
Indirect Reports: Oil/Spices Technicians/Skilled Operatives / Basic operators
* Location: Enfield
* Line Manager: Production Manager
* Direct reports: None
* Relationships: Production Planner, Production team, Warehouse teams, Engineers, Technical team
Key Accountabilities
General
* Be the point of contact for Technicians/operators for troubleshooting and escalate issues as needed.
* Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure sufficient raw materials, packaging, and storage space.
* Support the Production Manager with labor planning, holidays, sickness, and agency staffing.
* Ensure site readiness for audits.
* Drive performance through short interval control and production reviews.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Support staff development through SOPs, training, briefs, and feedback.
* Run production lines during holidays or absences.
* Lead asset care and ensure maintenance plans are followed.
* Control yield and weights to minimize costs.
* Monitor material consumption and perform regular stock counts.
Skills/Knowledge
* Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
* Leadership experience.
* Knowledge of manufacturing systems like packing machines, palletisers, and ERP systems.
* Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
