Are you an experienced Senior accounting professional looking to progress your career in a well‑sized and established accountancy practice? This highly successful award winning Chelmsford based firm are now seeking a suitably qualified (ACA or ACCA) individual to take up a position that offers an excellent blend of accounts preparation, client engagement, and audit & advisory work whilst being able to develop and progress within a high‑quality practice environment.
The Role
You’ll manage your own client portfolio while working closely with a diverse mix of SMEs, owner‑managed businesses, and local organisations across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and prepare year‑end statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102‑1A as well as computations for corporation tax returns
* Gain oversight of the production and delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting
* Review quarterly VAT returns in readiness for submission to HMRC
* Participate in the firm’s provision of audit services for in‑scope clients as well as tax planning as required
* Provide ongoing support and advice to clients
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
* Contribute to a collaborative, supportive team culture
About You
* ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 3+ years’ practice experience working for a UK firm in the capacity of Senior Accountant or Semi‑Senior looking to step up.
* Confident in the provision of full year‑end accounts and ideally audit related obligations
* Strong communication and client‑facing skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Organised, detail‑driven, and committed to delivering high‑quality work
