Position Overview: As a Housekeeper at Banana Moon Hatton Day Nursery, you will play an essential role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families. Your dedication to cleanliness and hygiene will contribute significantly to maintaining a nurturing space where children can thrive. We are looking for 16 hours per week, flexible to suit you as well as us. Key Responsibilities: Keep all nursery areas, including main rooms and common areas, clean and tidy. Ensure high standards of hygiene in washrooms and nappy changing areas are consistently upheld. Perform laundry duties, including washing and managing bedding and children’s clothing as required. Assist with meal preparation and cleaning of dishes and kitchen areas during meal times. Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report when replenishments are needed. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for children and staff. Collaborate with nursery staff to support the overall functioning and cleanliness of the nursery. Requirements Qualifications and Skills: Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a childcare or educational setting. Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning (knowledge of COSHH is a plus). Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
