Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for inspection, service, and repair of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards. Rectify reported driver defects and carry out other related duties.
Your Responsibilities
* Repair and maintain vehicles within the company fleet and on contract repairs authorized by the National Fleet Engineer.
* Take vehicles on road tests when necessary for repairs.
* Conduct MOT testing or take vehicles to outside workshops for specialized repairs.
* Collect parts when deliveries cannot be made.
* Undertake repairs on forklifts and other equipment not sourced via contract hire.
* Complete servicing documentation relevant to each vehicle.
* Clean vehicles/parts to enable effective maintenance.
* Attend to vehicle breakdowns on-site and off-site as needed.
* Provide ad-hoc support for the workshop supervisor when required.
Your Profile
* City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in vehicle workshop operations through recognized apprenticeship or training.
* LGV license (desired but not essential).
* Proficiency with vehicle diagnostics.
* HGV technical experience (desirable).
* Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (optional).
* Understanding of Department of Transport operating requirements.
* Educated to GCSE level.
