Mental Health Coordinator (Term Time Only – Maternity Cover)

Loughborough College Group is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Coordinator to join our Learner Services team on a fixed‑term maternity cover contract. This role delivers mental health support across the college, ensuring learners receive timely and effective interventions that promote emotional well‑being and academic success.
Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one support and develop personalised transition plans for learners, families, staff and external agencies.
* Coordinate initiatives such as drop‑in sessions, breakfast clubs and mental‑health tutorials.
* Deliver staff training and accredited Mental Health First Aid courses.
* Act as a key member of the safeguarding team, supporting learners at risk and contributing to the college’s mental‑health strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working with young people aged 16–18 and supporting mental‑health needs such as anxiety, depression and self‑harm.
* Strong communication skills and knowledge of safeguarding legislation.
* Ability to engage with diverse learners and confidently plan and deliver targeted sessions.
* Proficiency in IT systems.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade A–C or equivalent) and a mental‑health qualification.
* Ideally a teaching qualification or willingness to work toward one.
Employment Details
The role is term‑time only, working 40 weeks per year and follows the Further Education term dates.
