Are you practical, organised and passionate about creating an inspiring learning environment for future hospitality professionals? We are looking for a dedicated Catering Technician to join our Hospitality and Catering team at DN Colleges Group.
In this vital role, you will support teaching staff and students by preparing resources, maintaining specialist kitchens and equipment, and ensuring our learning spaces are safe, clean and fully operational. Your work will help us deliver outstanding hands‑on learning experiences for our learners.
What you’ll be doing
1. Preparing and issuing teaching resources and equipment for practical sessions.
2. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised catering environment.
3. Ordering, receiving and distributing stock, materials and supplies.
4. Carrying out routine maintenance, checks and preparation of equipment.
5. Supporting stock control, including maintaining accurate records.
6. Reporting faults or hazards and assisting with safety inspections.
7. Demonstrating practical techniques to learners where appropriate.
8. Assisting with learner supervision during sessions and activities.
Essential criteria
You will need:
9. A relevant Food Safety, Health & Safety or Food Handling qualification – or willingness to work towards one.
10. Maths and English at Level 2 (or equivalent).
11. Strong subject knowledge within hospitality/catering and relevant industry experience.
12. Practical skills and the ability to support high‑quality teaching and learning.
13. Excellent organisational, communication and team‑working skills.
