Construction Technician £16.00 – £17.00 per hour (DOE)

We are looking for an experienced Construction Technician to join a well-established and expanding team. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on technician with strong machinery knowledge who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working within a supportive workshop environment.
The Role As a Construction Technician, you will carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of construction machinery. You’ll be working on equipment used across the construction and civil engineering sectors, ensuring machinery is safe, reliable, and prepared to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, diagnose and repair construction machinery and equipment
* Conduct routine maintenance and fault‑finding procedures
* Prepare machines for hire, sale, and customer use
* Complete inspection sheets, job cards, and service reports accurately
* Work both independently and as part of a skilled team
* Provide occasional support with customer enquiries and machine demonstrations
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working with construction or plant machinery
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Construction Equipment Maintenance, or related field (Level 3 advantageous)
* Experience with any of the following is highly desirable : Hitachi, JCB, SANY, other construction plant machinery (e.g. dumpers, rollers, loaders, telehandlers) Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault‑finding skills
* Ability to work under pressure during busy periods
* Good communication skills and a customer‑focused approach
* Full UK driving licence
