My client is a leading property maintenance and installation organisation, specialising in servicing gas central heating and hot water services for commercial landlords, property owners, major housing associations, and local councils. We are currently seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead our Health, Safety & Environment function.
Purpose of the Role:As the HSE Manager, you will ensure legal compliance, operational risk reduction, and foster a proactive safety culture within TBG. You will manage the HSE Advisor(s) and HSE Coordinator, providing leadership, coaching, and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality HSE support across the business. Your role will involve working closely with operational leaders and the Head of QHSE to drive HSE standards, systems, and performance on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the HSE team, providing regular coaching, objective-setting, and performance reviews.
* Champion a positive safety culture and ensure HSE is integrated into daily operations.
* Ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Oversee incident management, including investigations and reporting, to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
* Conduct site audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Identify training needs and develop a structured HSE training plan for all staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
* NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) is essential; NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 Qualification is desirable.
* Strong operational HSE experience within utilities, construction, engineering, or energy environments.
* Demonstrable experience in leading investigations and audits.
* Excellent interpersonal, influencing, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Ability to develop strong relationships and influence at all levels, including senior management.
