The Lancashire and South Cumbria MND Care and Research Centre is offering a position for a Lead Research Nurse, funded by a 4-year grant from the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. The role involves facilitating research trials in Motor Neurone Disease within the neurosciences department, supporting the development of research opportunities, and improving care for people affected by MND.
The successful candidate will join the MND Association Research Nurse Network, bridging researchers, care teams, and patients. They will assist patients in navigating clinical trials, identifying research opportunities, and supporting their ongoing involvement. The role may require visiting patients at home and attending clinics and support groups across Lancashire and South Cumbria, so the ability to travel is essential.
Main duties include:
* Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting trial activities as per protocols and legislation.
* Providing leadership and specialist knowledge to support the smooth running of trials.
* Supporting recruitment into MND studies, including commercial and non-commercial trials.
* Collaborating with the MND Association and supporting the development of the National Research Nurse Network.
The role is based at Royal Preston Hospital, covering Lancashire and South Cumbria, with strong links to the Trust's Research Team. It offers opportunities for professional development, networking, and making a meaningful impact in patient care and research.
