The Position
You will join an established team of Engineers as a Senior/Principal Mechanical engineer, supporting the delivery of a variety of Design & Build projects as part of major capital investment programmes.
The successful candidate will be involved in the whole project life cycle from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support including site surveys and investigations. In line with their Communities of Practice approach, there are opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects including in water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure and environmental sectors.
As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.
This company also provides a number of opportunities to learn and develop from colleagues across the whole UK and Ireland business. As a Mechanical Engineer you will help develop the team by acting as a mentor or guide to less experienced members within the team.
About You
The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Engineer who is Chartered or Incorporated with the IMechE (or working toward Chartership) with experience in mechanical design, ideally within the water industry.
You will be experienced in producing technical specifications, pump sizing and hydraulic calculations, schedules, DEAR assessments, reports and familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions.
You will be able to provide engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, HAZOPs and ALMs.
You will understand how water and wastewater treatment processes operate and be experienced in assessing existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver the mechanical design. We would also be interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within the energy, infrastructure & environmental sectors in a mechanical engineering capacity.
