We are now recruiting for a House Support Officer, to contribute to the team of House Support Officers and work alongside staff, parents, and students. The underpinning value of the work is to ensure that every student achieves their potential through targeted support and intervention, working with the school's pastoral leaders.
In consultation with the Heads of House, the House Support Officer will contribute to all aspects of students' well-being and achievement. The role involves dealing with parents, addressing students' behavioural and attendance issues, intervening with difficulties around the school in terms of pastoral support, and supporting the work of the inclusion team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Being the main contact for parents/carers during the school day.
2. Supporting the Heads of House in monitoring attendance and punctuality of students.
3. Investigating specific behaviour incidents, taking statements from students where appropriate, and preparing accurate documentation to report findings to Heads of House.
4. Supporting the DSL by ensuring all safeguarding issues are dealt with and recorded in line with school policy and procedures.
5. Working on school attendance as necessary, e.g., first day contact for targeted cohorts of students.
Minimum Requirements:
* Level 3 qualification or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent to A - C), including English and Maths.
* Background knowledge of relevant pastoral work.
