Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Security Systems Engineer to join our team. working within a growing company in the North West area.
Having already gained a couple of years experience, you will work closely with various teams to develop your skills further.
Responsibilities
* Install and configure CCTV systems, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security technologies.
* Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing security systems.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security solutions into new projects.
* Read and interpret schematics to ensure proper installation of equipment.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools safely during installation processes.
* Maintain accurate documentation of system designs, installations, and maintenance activities.
* Interfacing with other systems and sub-contractors, in particular other security systems.
* Accurate and timely completion of all internal documentation
* Maintain adherence to health and safety standards at all times
Skills
* Familiarity with computer hardware relevant to security applications.
* Electrical experience for troubleshooting and installation of systems.
* Knowledge of CCTV technology and its integration into security frameworks.
* Ability to work with hand tools and power tools effectively.
* Competence in reading and interpreting schematics for system design.
* Experience with system design principles for security applications.
* Knowledge of intrusion detection systems (IDS) for enhanced protection.
* Understanding of construction practices as they relate to security installations.
* Familiarity with telecommunication systems that support security operations.
* Knowledge of networking theory and how it applies to Security Systems
* Understanding of the interfacing requirements between Access Control systems and CCTV, Building Intelligence and a buildings life safety systems
* Knowledge of both open protocol and closed protocol systems
* Good knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage and current drain
