Job Opportunity - Procurement Officer - South East England One of my local authority clients based in the South East of England are currently on the lookout for Procurement Officer to join their team on an interim basis. Procurement Officer Contract Length: 6-12 Months Location: South East of England Pay Rate: DOE IR35 Status: Inside Start Date: ASAP Days p/w: 4 or 5 (Dependant on candidates preference) Candidates with a vast amount of local authority experience doing this type of role will be able to work on a hybrid basis, 50/50 split. Candidates with little local authority experience will need to work 100% in office in order to be able to receive the support needed. You will be responsible at an operational level for securing sound purchasing and procurement practice across the council. You will need to liaise with relevant officers throughout the council to ensure that goods and services are procured in the most economic and advantageous way while adhering to Council policies and procedure and UK legislation. You will be expected to: Compile and maintain the corporate contract register and compile transparency of data for statutory publication. Carry out evaluations of tenders/quotations for contracts. Monitor purchasing arrangements and analyse expenditure. Assist continued development with the electronic tendering system, maintain and inputting data. Compile and respond to Freedom of Information requests. Place adverts on relevant portals regarding councils contract opportunities and respond to queries. Candidates must have excellent working knowledge of using Purchasing/EProcurement module of Efinancials or similar.
