About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Additional Needs Support Mentor to join our team in Redbridge, working in vibrant and inclusive primary and secondary schools. You will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils with diverse needs, enabling them to achieve their full potential in a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
* Providing tailored support to students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis.
* Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
* Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Assisting with personal care needs, where necessary.
* Monitoring and recording students’ progress, sharing insights with teachers and parents.
* Encouraging and motivating pupils to engage actively in their learning.
Qualifications:
* Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (in an educational or care setting).
* Is a holder of a Bachelors degree in the arts or sciences.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Is calm, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to build strong relationships.
* Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
