We are looking for a Team Leader to join the Keysoe Therapy & Wellbeing Centre to support the excellent work of the Therapy Support Animals.
The Keysoe Therapy & Wellbeing Centre currently hosts our famous miniature ponies, each experienced in delivering Animal Assisted Therapy through one-to-one visits, hospital and school visits, or fundraising events. We are also recruiting Pygmy Goats to interact with visitors, all of which can be enjoyed from the new Education Barn and Play Area, offering year-round access to our Therapy Animals.
The Team Leader will be an advocate of Keysoe International and the Centre, promoting its strategy and purpose. The role involves providing daily care to the Therapy Animals and overseeing visits to support those in need. This position suits a gentle, animal-loving person who understands the benefits and joy these animals bring.
About the role:
1. General yard duties: feeding, mucking out, exercising, and maintaining breed-specific welfare.
2. Educating clients about animal care involved with each species in the Centre.
3. Transporting animals to external venues as required.
4. Leading offsite visits.
5. Assisting with grooming needs.
6. Cleaning and maintaining yard and turn-out areas.
7. Ensuring health and safety compliance.
8. Performing ad hoc activities as requested by management.
About you:
1. Passionate about horse wellbeing and healthcare.
2. Experienced in animal care, particularly in equestrian care.
3. Skilled in compassionate communication with children and vulnerable adults.
4. A team player and approachable.
5. Well-presented and prideful in appearance.
6. Motivated to make a real difference.
7. This role involves working Wednesday to Sunday shifts; the candidate must be able to work this pattern.
All team members are expected to demonstrate and uphold the company's values of teamwork, respect, integrity, learning, and sharing.
This role requires an enhanced DBS check regularly, and the successful candidate must meet evolving DBS requirements.
