Across this 2 year programme, you’ll work on real projects, learn from experienced professionals, and follow a structured development journey that prepares you to gain your level 3 qualification.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Year 1 – Build Your Foundation
1. Working full time within the finance team
2. Day release to recognised training provider
3. Begin working toward your Level 3 Assistant Accountant and AAT qualification
Year 2 – Learn on the Job
4. Gain further experience within the team gaining in depth knowledge of plant finance processes
5. Continue regular engagement with the training provider ensuring all Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors requirements
6. Working to complete your EPA and AAT qualification
The role is both varied and challenging, requiring you to be proactive and take ownership of several key tasks which include:
7. Monthly management reports and slides summarising financial performance
8. Month End preparation and reporting support
9. Budgeting/Forecasting reporting and support
10. Variance analysis – Forecast/Budget versus Actuals
11. Cost Controlling including cost centre responsibilities
12. Accounting Ledger maintenance within SAP
13. Ad-hoc reporting requirements
14. General support to the finance team
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll work within the finance team, giving you broad exposure to understanding the processes involved of manufacturing finance team. You’ll strengthen your skills while working alongside highly skilled professionals.
What You Bring
You must have one of the following:
15. A Level in Accounting
16. L2 AAT - full qual
17. L2 City & Guilds in Bookkeeping and Accounts
18. L2 ICB Certificate in Bookkeeping
19. or complete a ‘Free of Charge’ L2 Bookkeeping as prerequisite to starting the programme.
You will also need:
20. A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, Maths, and two additional subjects – Previous finance qualification would be an advantage
