Job Overview
Sales of surgical and medical supplies to end user buyers (both hospital and non-hospital), maintaining existing business levels as well as growing the business via relationships within South of England region. You will be required to work alongside our Clients' distribution partner in ensuring the movement of products on territory.
This is a full-time position that requires flexibility, as occasional weekend working will be required in respect of conferences/exhibitions and/or product evaluations. In addition to the regular travelling on territory there will also be the requirement for occasional travel both within UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* The RSM is responsible for retaining existing business while developing additional accounts
within his/her region. This is to be achieved by delivering a range of support services to customers while obtaining, arranging and managing clinical evaluations of medical products for potential customers.
* This will involve dealing with customer representatives at all levels (e.g. Consultants, Theatre Managers, Theatre Nurses, Procurement/Supplies Managers, Infection Control Managers/Nurses, Occupational Health Managers/Nurses, etc.)
* To agree, achieve and exceed where possible regional targets while supporting colleagues and management in achieving the same for other regions.
* To complete a report, in the corporate format, for evaluations within territory as well as presentation of same to potential customers when required.
* To monitor and report any developments within the healthcare market that may impact upon Client
* To assist and support the UK NHS Team Leader as well as the other Regional Sales Managers in other territories when required.
Key competencies/Experience required
* Ideal candidate for the South of England should be within a good transport link area of the South of England (candidates in locations such as south coast or southwest region are not ideal) so in areas such as Milton Keynes, Northampton, Oxford, Cambridge or around London would be advantageous.
* Candidates should have a proven track record in commercial healthcare sales and we are especially looking for someone looking to develop into a sales management role (min 5 years’ experience of medical field sales).
* Pharmaceutical salespeople may be considered but ideally, we are looking for those with a consumable/medical device background
* Effective communicator who is able to develop and build relationships easily.
* It is desirable that the candidate is comfortable working in a hospital/clinical environment.
* A current, valid driving licence is an essential requirement of this post
