We are seeking a highly competent English Teacher for a permanent-term contract in Newham, specialised in supporting students with complex needs through their GCSE journey. About the Role This is a full-time role from February until July 2026. You will be responsible for the GCSE English outcomes of students at a Newham PRU. The successful candidate must be skilled in diagnostic teaching—identifying where learning has broken down and adapting the curriculum to ensure every student can access the English Language GCSE. About the School The school is a mixed 11–16 provision that specializes in bespoke education. They offer a high-support environment with smaller class sizes, allowing for the intensive, relationship-based teaching required to succeed with students who find mainstream education difficult. Responsibilities Adapt and "scaffold" the English GCSE curriculum to meet complex SEMH and SEN needs. Manage a classroom environment where students may present with challenging behaviour. Provide consistent assessment and feedback to help students visualize their progress. Requirements Must hold QTS. Proven experience in a PRU or high-need SEN setting is preferred.
