Robert Half is partnering with a fast-growth, private equity-backed business in Cardiff to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their expanding finance team.
Assistant Management Accountant
Salary:
£35,000 - £38,000 per annum (with potential for study support)
Contract:
12-month FTC - strong probability of becoming permanent
Location:
Predominantly remote with occasional travel to Cardiff City Centre
This role combines transactional finance responsibilities with exposure to management accounting, offering an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a progressive, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing quarterly management accounts for investor reporting.
Compile financial data to support management accounting and decision-making.
Contribute to the annual budgeting process.
Support the production of statutory accounts and quarterly loan drawdowns.
Participate in monthly finance review meetings with project teams.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulations.
Maintain strong financial controls and ensure accuracy in all reconciliations.
Support banking operations, including reconciliations and transaction processing.
Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently.
Manage invoice processing, including PO matching and discrepancy resolution.
Oversee payment runs in line with financial controls.
Provide administrative finance support and assist during audits and tax computations.
Collaborate with qualified accountants to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a similar finance role.
Strong understanding of accounts payable, reconciliations, VAT returns, and payment processes.
Experience within a complex finance function.
Proficient in financial systems and software (Sage experience beneficial).
Confident user of Excel.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills.
Proactive and organised.
