We are currently recruiting for a Full Time Level 3 Nursery Practitioner position in our Space Cadet Pre-School room at LETS Explore Day Nursery.
Minimum NVQ Level 3 Nursery Nurse qualification required.

Job Purpose
To assist the room leader in charge of each room. Stimulate and interact with each individual child, using the EYFS effectively. Liase with parents with regards to children's progress, keeping up to date observations and assessments on all key children.

Accountable to: Nursery Manager
Main Duties
Relationship with children and Quality practices
* Ensure that daily safety checks (of your room) are carried out in the morning and any action you have taken is reported to your team leader or management.
* Ensure nursery is prepared at the beginning of each session to enable children to begin their play/activity.
* Keep and store a daily record of each child's time of arrival and departure and record of attendance, record all changes to the person responsible for the pick up and collection of the children including a given password.
* Administer prescribed medicine ensuring the medicine procedure is followed and all details are recorded daily.
* Meet the individual needs of all children with regard to dietary requirements.
* Provide and social and calm atmosphere in which babies and children eat and sleep and to change the children at set times or as required or as instructed.
* Work with colleagues to ensure the nursery is clean, safe and tidy on a daily basis.
* Implement activities that will involve children's understanding of personal safety and health and safety at home/nursery and on the way to and from school.
* Plan and arrange stimulating learning activities for the children within that room using the EYFS guidelines.
* Be aware of different customs, values and beliefs of individual children and provide activities to accompany these ideas
* Lead in completing displays within the room and nursery with children's work. These should be interesting and labelled accordingly.
Relationship with parents:
* Liaise with children's parent/carer and keep them informed of any matters concerning their child's development using daily reports and verbal communication ensuring the information they receive is accurate.
* Involve parents in planning and next steps for their children.
* Be available to attend parent evenings and open days (notice provided)
Relationship with Colleagues:
* Liaise with colleagues/professionals in and out of nursery (Speech Therapists, SEN Co-Ordinatos, Health Visitors etc) to assit with children's individual needs.
* Act as an effective role model and to share your skills, knowledge and experience with students and nursery assistants.
* Assist in the maintenance of nursery equipments - putting away all pieces correctly and associated personnel.
* Ensure uniforms adhere to uniform policy.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by your manager.
