Responsibilities; Define and implement simple, robust BIM standards and tools, and bring our project teams with you so information is correct, coordination is proactive, and handover is smooth.
Strategy & standards: Support the BIM/digital playbook (templates, BEP, model requirements, naming, approvals, audits) in line with ISO 19650 principles.
Coordination: Lead regular design/model reviews; run Navisworks clash detection and coordination sessions; report, track, and close issues before they reach site. Ensure models are compatible and coordinated through sound knowledge of IFC workflows and interoperability between platforms.
Information requirements: Translate EIR/AIR into deliverable model/data outputs; manage model audits, validation, and data drops.
Training & adoption: Plan and deliver short, role-based training; coach project teams; track adoption and remove blockers.
Site enablement: Ensure field teams have usable drawings, views, and model access via Dalux Box and Dalux Field.
Programme & cost support: Feed coordination outputs into look-ahead planning; support 4D/5D where beneficial.
Quality & handover: Define as-built and asset data requirements (e.g., COBie); ensure clean, verified O&M and handover packs.
Supplier management: Align designers and subcontractors to Spencer standards; review deliverables and performance.
Tooling & pilots: Evaluate and implement digital tools (e.g., Navisworks, Dalux); run pilots and scale proven workflows.
Reporting: Maintain KPIs/dashboards on clashes closed, RFI trends, model/data quality, and training completion.
Governance: Chair digital/BIM gates at key milestones; record decisions, non-conformances, and improvement actions.
Person Specification; Proven ability to bring site and office teams on the journey (train, coach, set standards, enforce adoption).
Hands-on with BIM execution plans, model coordination, clash/risk reviews, and information requirements (e.g., aligned to ISO 19650 concepts).
Experience working with PMs, planners, QS, design managers, and site teams on live projects.
Can map current workflows, remove waste, write SOPs, and measure compliance.
Clear, persuasive communicator; confident running workshops and toolbox talks.
Comfortable with structured data (COBie/asset info), model validation, dashboards/metrics.
Required knowledge;
Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, including clash setup, reporting, and update management.
Sound understanding of IFC coordination and data exchange between authoring platforms.
Strong awareness of authoring tools such as Revit and OpenBuildings, with the ability to understand workflows, identify coordination challenges, and advise on best practice.
SolidWorks familiarity is an advantage.
Experience with Dalux Box and Field is desirable.
Practical understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles is essential.
