We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an IT Support Technician. This is a permanent role, based in Alfreton.
You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's IT network, servers, client devices, and security systems. This includes investigating, diagnosing, and resolving network, server, client device, and software problems, collecting IT usage statistics, making recommendations for improving the company's IT systems, and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.
Job Duties
1. Basic end user training.
2. Creation and upkeep of documentation in Confluence.
3. User onboarding and offboarding, including creating new users, assigning rights to relevant software and files, and resetting passwords.
4. Installation and configuration of new and existing desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.
5. Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
6. Repairing and replacing damaged or failed computer and network components.
7. Supporting users whenever they encounter challenges with computers and network devices.
8. Undertaking project work as assigned by the IT Management Team.
9. Liaising with third-party support.
10. Stock management of IT equipment.
What we are looking for
* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
* Basic networking experience, including understanding of common network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and access points.
* Experience with cabling, including patching to switches and making cables.
* A methodical approach to investigating issues using tools such as Google, ChatGPT, etc.
* Great people skills, capable of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying IT skill levels.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Reliability and punctuality.
* Driving license and access to own vehicle are mandatory.
