Join to apply for the Risk Adviser role at Guardian Jobs. We lead the UK’s diplomatic, development and consular work around the world. Our Cyber, Information and Technology Threats Directorate works to understand and counter risks to the UK’s values and safety, tackle information threats to national security, contest hostile state narratives, support targeted audiences, deter foreign information manipulation, respond to cyber threats, and shape international norms in cyberspace. In this role you will work on risk management best practice, improve coordination, and help manage some of the biggest threats to programming.
Your role with us — You will advise on risks identified in the information threats portfolio, analyse and report on trends and exposure, develop a clear framework for supporting and managing risk, and lead on the development of messaging, vision and support for the Portfolio team. You will also deliver risk management training, produce guidance notes for our embassies, support incident responses, and help ensure minimum standards while driving innovation in the work we do.
Responsibilities

* Deliver risk management training to colleagues, produce guidance notes for embassies, support responses to incidents, and help ensure minimum standards while driving innovation.
Qualifications
* Solid understanding of the principles of risk management with a proven track record of working on risk management in government.
* Ability to understand complex issues quickly and make good decisions based on benefit against risk.
* Inspirational communicator and collaborator, capable of explaining risk at all levels and across constituencies; able to influence teams to adopt positive changes.
* Ability to contribute to multiple projects, research, benchmark, scope, design, implement and evaluate delivery to tight deadlines; proactive with a focus on continuous improvement and simplifying processes.
* Experience applying risk judgments in complex geo- and socio-political environments.
Security & Eligibility
You must be a British citizen at the time of your application and you will be required to attain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. DV clearance can take approximately three months depending on individual circumstances.
