About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds City College as an Apprentice Teacher in English in our School of Social Sciences based at Quarry Hill Campus.
We are seeking a dynamic, talented, and organised individual. This role requires a teacher to make a contribution towards positive outcomes for learners in English who are on a study programme in either Education & Early Years, Public Services or Health, Science & Social Care.
As an Apprentice Teacher, you will gain on‑the‑job experience while working towards completing your Teaching apprenticeship. On completion you will gain a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds.
You will also receive support from our dedicated Teaching, Learning and Assessment team, who share their expertise and guidance on best practice with teaching colleagues at all levels of their career.
This is a fixed‑term contract for the length of the 24 month apprenticeship.
What You Will Do
* Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources.
* Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
* Create effective assessment activities and provide developmental and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve.
* Develop and strengthen relationships with students and provide support and encouragement to ensure successful outcomes.
* Join a friendly, supportive, hard‑working team who are passionate about developing learners’ self‑esteem, abilities and progress.
About You
* Good general education including Maths and English Level 2 or above (or GCSE Grade 4 or above).
* Level 3 qualification, such as a Level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship, A-Levels, BTEC or NVQ.
* Experience of working with and supporting young people in an educational setting.
