Early Years Opportunities Wantage, Oxfordshire

Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire
Contract: Permanent Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities Available

ACR Recruitment & Training Ltd is currently supporting a high-quality nursery setting in Wantage with the recruitment of three exciting Early Years positions.

Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an established leader, there is an opportunity here to suit your experience, career goals, and progression plans.


Position 1: Nursery Practitioner

Salary: Up to £28,000 per year (DOE & hours)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week (flexible patterns available)


About the Role

Join a welcoming and supportive nursery team, delivering high-quality care and education to children aged 0 5 years.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver outstanding care and learning experiences
* Support children s development in line with EYFS
* Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
* Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
* Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards
* Work collaboratively within the nursery team


Requirements

* Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
* Strong knowledge of EYFS
* Previous UK nursery experience
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)


Position 2: Third in Charge

Salary: Up to £34,000 per year (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week (part-time considered)


About the Role

A fantastic opportunity for a senior practitioner ready to step into leadership, supporting the management team in the day-to-day running of the nursery.


Key Responsibilities

* Support the Manager and Deputy in leading the nursery
* Oversee daily operations and maintain high standards
* Lead, mentor, and support nursery practitioners
* Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements
* Support staff training and development
* Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required
* Build positive relationships with parents and families
* Cover management responsibilities in senior staff absence


Requirements

* Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (essential)
* Proven experience in a senior or leadership role
* Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
* Excellent leadership and communication skills


Position 3: Nursery Manager

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Setting: 40+ children 15+ staff members


About the Role

Lead and inspire a team of practitioners, focusing on staff development and high-quality provision within a well-established nursery setting.


Key Responsibilities

o Lead and manage all aspects of nursery operations
o Develop and mentor staff through coaching and training
o Ensure high-quality EYFS delivery across all rooms
o Maintain Ofsted compliance and safeguarding standards
o Build strong partnerships with parents and external agencies
o Oversee curriculum planning and child development
o Manage health & safety, policies, and procedures
o Support recruitment and staff development
o Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead


Requirements

o Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (essential)
o Proven experience in nursery management or senior leadership
o Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding
o Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
o Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
