We have a new opportunity to be part of our Composites Design team in the role of Composite Design Engineer.
As a Composite Design Engineer, you will contribute to the full design lifecycle of composite components, from initial scheme through to development and testing. You’ll be working as part of a collaborative and innovative design team, supporting the development of class-leading composite assemblies, tooling, and jigs. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow and refine your design expertise within a high-performance F1 environment.
You will be responsible for:
* Supporting the creation of design schemes from concept through to detailed assemblies, including associated jigs, patterns, and tooling.
* Surfacing composite components and defining laminate specifications.
* Providing technical support during the assembly, testing, and development phases.
* Assisting in resolving issues arising from design validation or development.
* Participating in team discussions to develop and improve design concepts.
* Attending and contributing to meetings across design and engineering teams.
* Working proactively and professionally within a fast-paced and technically challenging environment.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills aligned to composite design best practices.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
* A degree or equivalent in a composites or mechanical engineering discipline.
* Strong experience producing high-quality design schemes and drawings of complex assemblies.
* Good working knowledge of 3D CAD systems—ideally with CATIA—and surface modelling.
* Solid understanding of composite manufacturing techniques using pre-preg technologies.
* Relevant experience within a motorsport or high-performance engineering environment is desirable.
* A creative and flexible approach to design problem-solving.
* Analytical mindset with a strong ability to deliver effective design solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A calm, confident demeanour under pressure, with strong organisational abilities.
* Highly motivated, adaptable, and dependable.
* Good IT proficiency and attention to detail.
* A team player who contributes positively to team culture.
* Commitment to Health & Safety practices.
This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
