IT Services Manager
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset – Hybrid (2 days on-site per week)
Salary: £65,000 – £72,000 + £5K Car Allowance + Bonus (up to 10%)
Security Clearance: You must have lived in the UK for at least 3 years with settled or pre-settled status and be eligible for BPSS or higher security clearance.
Key Requirements
We are seeking an IT Services Manager with 5–8 years of experience in IT service delivery and systems administration, ideally in a fast-paced, infrastructure-heavy environment. This role is particularly suited to those with experience managing service teams and third-party contracts within regulated or safety-critical industries.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* Professional accreditation in ITIL, PRINCE2, APMP, or equivalent
* Proven experience as a Certified Service Manager in service delivery management, particularly in system administration
* Experience managing IT operations, support teams, and budgets
* Excellent understanding of SLAs, compliance, service assurance, and contract/vendor management
* Comfortable working with delivery tools such as Azure DevOps and JIRA
* Strong stakeholder engagement, planning, and communication skills
* Must be willing and able to undergo BPSS clearance
* Experience leading a Systems Administration team is preferred; alternatively, proven experience managing other IT service teams such as Helpdesk or IT Support
Role & Responsibilities
As IT Services Manager, you will lead the operational side of IT service management, ensuring high standards across infrastructure, application support, and end-user services. Reporting to senior stakeholders, you will take ownership of service improvement, compliance, vendor oversight, and operational resilience.
Responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the delivery of IT services to meet project and operational requirements
* Managing the system administration team and related resources
* Monitoring SLA compliance and ensuring services meet regulatory and business needs
* Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deliver secure and scalable systems
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives across tools, processes, and delivery models
* Ensuring effective change management and minimal business disruption
* Leading service performance reviews, audits, and reporting
* Managing licensing, service costs, and budget accruals
* Ensuring seamless transition from project delivery into operations
* Supporting finance with accurate forecasting and cost tracking
* Building strong relationships with key stakeholders and third-party providers
* Promoting a culture of collaboration, transparency, and service excellence
Key Deliverables
* End-to-end IT service governance and assurance
* Up-to-date licensing schedules, cost controls, and risk registers
* Effective reporting on service metrics, issues, and compliance gaps
* Coordination of risk management, change control, and continuous improvement
* Delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable IT services aligned with green energy programme goals
Working Pattern & Travel
* Hybrid working pattern – expected on-site 2 days per week in Somerset
* Travel and overnight accommodation allowance available if you live more than 1.5 hours from site
