We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Building Services team in Derby.
Working as an Assistant Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering small works and assist with TVEs & Life Cycle projects from conception to completion at Royal Derby Hospital. To collaboratively work with Stakeholders as part of Integrated Project Team including adherence and compliance with both Skanska and the clients’ systems of work.
What you’ll do:
1. Management of Small works and Life Cycle Project work to comply with process and procedure within Our Way of Working: including design, estimating, arrange for the ordering of materials and plant, resource planning and implementation of direct labour or contract labour.
2. Working with the Operations team to ensure all quotations are completed and returned within the Performance Management System time scales.
3. Pre plan all works with relevant stakeholders and then liaise with all relevant parties including but not limited to Operations Managers, Estates Managers, clients, trade contractors and other third parties including departments to agree acceptable commencement date for the works. Ensuring access is available and the planned works do not compromise day to day operations and that works are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
4. Responsible for in process inspections, adherence to CDM Regulations, delivering exemplary health and safety standards, checking the built works to ensure defect free handovers and management of any remedial works if required. Once all works are satisfactorily completed sign off the works and review and authorise any subcontractor application for payment.
What you'll bring to the role:
5. H&S qualification e.g. minimum 4 day IOSH or Construction Certificate
6. SMSTS preferrable
7. Working trade background desirable.
8. Working towards professional qualification in building related discipline.
9. Demonstrable experience working to British Standards and current regulations.
10. Must strive for H&S excellence and support IFE initiatives.
11. Experienced in delivering multiple complex projects to a value of £1K -£25k, and high calibre experience of trouble shooting where required.
12. Responsible for the electronic management / storage of all lifecycle / small works projects documentation, including the upkeep of the tracking systems to ensure works are invoiced in a timely manner and ensure costs are recovered.
