Design Engineer
Location: Crewe
Hours: Full time, 39 hours per week
About the Role:
We’re looking for a Design Engineer to join our client's team in Crewe! As a Design Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of projects, ensuring they’re delivered on time, within budget, and meet all necessary standards and regulations. You’ll be preparing designs, conducting site inspections, and overseeing the work of talented technicians. Your role will also include producing detailed drawings and reports, managing project timelines, and ensuring that every aspect of the design meets British and European Standards. You’ll play a key part in every step of the design process, from brainstorming to completion.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Adhere to Business and Integrated Management Systems and suggest improvements whenever opportunities arise.
2. Assume roles like Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) and project manager when needed to keep projects on track.
3. Produce essential project documentation, including drawings, risk assessments, technical reports, etc.
4. Conduct site inspections, surveys, and design reviews to ensure standards and safety.
5. Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and meet deadlines.
6. Handle technical queries, collaborate with teams and external partners, and maintain communication.
7. Mentor and guide team members, fostering growth and a positive work environment.
8. Prioritize sustainability, safety, and innovation, leading initiatives such as “Safe by Design”.
9. Represent the company at client meetings and events, and compile project closeout reports and lessons learned.
