Salary: £30,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: A degree in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Electronics, Electrical, Computer, or Communications Engineering). Strong FPGA design fundamentals and VHDL skills, with the ability to write, test, and debug via simulation and on-device. Familiarity with at least one major toolchain (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, or Libero) and experience with version control systems (GIT/SVN/CVS). For experienced candidates, proven end-to-end FPGA delivery, interface definition, TCL scripting, and robust verification approaches (e.g., UVM/OSVVM/ABV) are essential. Bonus points for experience with Xilinx, Intel (Altera), or Microchip devices; ModelSim/QuestaSim; SystemVerilog/Verilog; Layer-2/3 networking, USB 3.2, or NVMe; Red Hat Linux; and interest in cryptographic systems. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. Responsibilities: In this role, your responsibilities will include: Designing and developing FPGA modules and subsystems across a range of devices and SoC platforms. Creating clean, maintainable RTL (VHDL / Verilog / SystemVerilog); building testbenches, and validating via simulation and hardware. Integrating FPGA blocks into wider system architectures, and collaborating with software, hardware, and verification colleagues. Keeping pace with new devices, tooling, and methods; championing quality, reliability, and best practices.
